Outfit I wore a couple of weeks ago (before the deadly heat wave) to go shopping in Shinjuku. I wanted to do something more quirky and reminiscent of dolly kei, mixing very dusty colours, and heavy tapestry/felt with light chiffon.

Summer in Tokyo is very humid and hot (not as bad as in Okinawa, but still very brutal), so I had to shelve my petticoats for a couple of months. Any kind of layering will most likely make me faint in this heat, so please bear with me as I post simpler summery outfits.

Sometimes you’re urged to rest & heal. Sometimes you’re called to action. Or make changes, big changes, & get out of your comfort zone. Other times you must help. You must accept, or surrender. Or even leave. And you will be given preemptive warning from the universe & reality around you. You just need to be quiet & listen, observe & notice the patterns. The mind is wired for it. When you don’t know what to do, or when your options aren’t ones you want, sit still until options appear that you do want. Or at least make you feel less dreadful, that your physical body doesn’t revolt against. It means there’s still work to be done where you are at. Let the options that feel the most right come to you.

Last Thursday, I was working at home in my pajamas when my partner texted me to tell me that sakuras were blooming in Nago (Okinawa) and that we should hurry to see them before the rain destroys them. So, I finished my work, got ready in 30 minutes and arrived there just before sunset.
